I’m using this ice cream maker that been sitting in my Brother-in-law’s basement for years.
This is one of the cheapest ice cream makers on the market, you can find this guy on Amazon for less than $20.00.
The bowl spins around the paddle, and the lid for the metal can needs to be lined up with the shaft of the motor for good engagement and function. The bucket has lots of room for ice and rock salt on both sides. there is no room along the narrow sides for ice.
- Reasonable noise level
- Easy cleanup
- Good instructions
- Big capacity
- Cannot add products while churning
- Even when only using 1 quart, it seems to get tired. I would think it will stall quickly with 3 or 4 quarts of ice cream.
- Uses rock salt
All in all this is a good ice cream maker for more uniform ice creams. Adding ingredients like chocolate chips will require you to stop the ice cream maker, remove motor, remove lid and add the chips, re-assemble, and re-start.
